Football-mad fundraisers laced up their boots to raise £1710 by taking part in a special charity match, organised by Keyline, the UK’s leading specialist supplier of civils and drainage solutions. The company’s Braintree branch went toe-to-toe with Knight Group in an entertaining 2-2 draw.
The match – which took place at Scraley Road Stadium, home of Heybridge Swifts FC – saw people dig deep to raise vital funds for Prostate Cancer UK and Action Medical Research for Children. The team from Keyline’s Braintree branch, located at Long Green near Cressing, were joined by a host of suppliers and local customers for the game against Knight Group, the leading construction and civil engineering firm.
Following a hard fought ninety minutes, fundraisers then enjoyed well-earned refreshments whilst taking part in a raffle. A silent auction also took place the following day.
James Curtis, Internal Sales at Keyline, organised the game. He said: “It was a fantastic event that raised vital funds for two charities that deliver incredibly important work. On behalf of Keyline and Knight Group, I would like to thank every person that donated, that came along to watch the game, and of course, to all the players. The match was a huge success and we hope to organise another event next year.”
